Our group is dedicated to innovating growth, fabrication and physics of the 3rd-generation (wide bandgap) semiconductor for cutting-edge devices. Our research activities are highly interdisciplinary. They involve electrical engineering, applied physics, material science, chemical engineering, computer science, and other related disciplines. Many of our research works are world-leading and pioneering and have been highlighted in top journals and technical media around the world. The devices of particular interest include laser, LED, power devices, solar cells, and sensors, etc. Because of the
Advanced Semiconductor Laboratory Xiaohang Li's research interests focus on the growth, fabrication, physics, and equipment of wide-bandgap structures and devices. He uses state-of-the-art characterization tools and facilities for wide bandgap semiconductor research, including supercomputers and machine learning (AI), to create cutting-edge technologies and conduct fundamental semiconductor studies. By using high temperature MOCVD and other state-of-the-art facilities, we aim to perfect and innovate important devices such as LED, laser, transistors, photodetectors, and sensors etc. These
